5 Tips for Doing More in Less Time

What’s better than achieving more in less time without stressing and burning yourself out? Often people have a lot of potential, but they don’t quite know how to make the most of their time. They don’t prioritize their tasks and end up panicking and missing deadlines. Being productive is not as challenging as it’s thought to be. All you need is strategic planning, calm nerves and determination. A few effective time and work management tips can help you boost your productivity and accomplish more by doing less:

5 Tips for Doing More in Less Time

    1. Manage Tasks According to Deadlines

Make a to-do list of jobs and prioritize them according to deadlines. You know your potential and working capacity better than anyone else knows, so list as many tasks as you can easily do without stressing yourself. The more tasks on the to-do list, the less likely you are to accomplish them all. Set a limit and don’t do more than that, but you have to careful and strategic while making the to-do list. Make sure that you are not missing any deadlines or commitments. Also, allocate time slots to every task and do your best to complete every job within the time limit. There are many great websites and software applications for managing tasks. Here are two of our favorites that are free, Simpleology and Trello.

    2. Don’t Stress Your Nerves

Stressing never boosts productivity. On the contrary, a person working in a stressed environment will work less than a person working in a relaxed and comfortable working atmosphere. Don’t work beyond your capacity. Yes, it’s good to gradually push yourself to increase your potential, but overburdening yourself can impact your productivity.

    3. Take Breaks

Regular breaks are very important to stay fresh and active. There is a saturation point for everyone, after which you cannot work no matter how hard you try. So take regular breaks during work. A number of people consider breaks as a waste of time, but in actuality, it helps you work faster and with more consistency and temperament. Take small breaks to talk to your friends, surf on the internet or do whatever you find relaxing. This will not only help you fight anxiety, but also boost your spirits.

    4. Block Away All Distractions

While it is important to take breaks during work, it is equally important to block away all the distractions and disturbances while you are working. You cannot concentrate on your work if you have a preoccupied mind. Divert all your focus on what you are doing. You can listen to some soothing music while working to block away external distractions. A person working with a focused mind can complete tasks in lesser time than a person working with a distracted mind. Therefore, if you want to work more in less time, concentration is the key.

    5. Sense of Accountability

This always helps a person complete his or her assigned tasks in a timely manner. If you know that you are accountable to your boss or your instructor, you will push yourself to complete all your tasks in a timely manner. Fear or accountability is one of the most effective workplace drivers that can motivate people to meet deadlines and complete their assigned tasks.
