Electrical Technician Training Program

The electrician training program provided by Florida Career College teaches students the basic knowledge and skills in applied electrical theory; residential, commercial, and industrial wiring. In addition, the program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on lab training they need to succeed as electricians.

FCC’s electrician course can be completed, and students can earn their diploma in as little as 10 months, placing students on the fast track to becoming electricians.

Students learn electrical wiring by working on on-site mock building stations in FCC’s skill-building labs. Upon completion of the program, students are prepared for entry-level positions, such as electricians and security and fire alarm systems installers.

Additionally, FCC’s Electrical Training Program is hybrid, meaning a portion of the program is completed online from the comfort of your own home, and the remaining portion is completed on-site in training labs at one of FCC’s many campus locations.

Skills You Will Learn

The Electrical Training Program provides students with a solid foundation in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Additionally, the program teaches students how to read and understand blueprints, estimates, and building codes. The program also introduces students to motor controls, programmable logic controls, low voltage applications, and solar systems.

Furthermore, the program covers the fundamentals of energy, load calculations, lighting outlets, grounding, bonding, and three-phase electrical distribution systems. The program also teaches students about low voltage applications, motors, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and the fundamentals of solar panels.

About This Program

FCC’s Electrician Training Program provides students with basic knowledge and skills in applied electrical theory; residential, commercial, and industrial wiring.

The great thing about our program is that it’s hybrid, meaning students have a flexible schedule since the program provides online learning and on-site physical labs for hands-on training. Usually, you will spend two days online and two days on campus to practice the skills you’ve learned on real-world equipment. In addition, the hands-on lab training will prepare you for the electrical equipment and wiring you will encounter upon beginning work in an entry-level position.

Upon graduating from FCC’s electrician course, you will have the skills, knowledge, and hands-on training you need to succeed as an entry-level electrician.
