Pharmacy Technician Program
FCC’s Pharmacy Technician Training Program will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to begin a rewarding, entry-level career in the pharmaceutical field.
The Pharmacy Tech Program will teach you how to assist patients with obtaining the correct medications. The program achieves its goal by teaching you how to fill, prepare, and dispense the correct medications in the right amounts.
Furthermore, the Pharmacy Technician Program will prepare you for pharmacy technician roles in various settings that include retail pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, mail-order pharmacies, and long-term care facilities.
The program can be completed and you can earn a diploma in as few as 10 months, placing you on course to becoming a pharmacy technician in less than a year. Our program serves as a stepping stone toward a long-term, fulfilling career in the healthcare field.

Skills You Will Learn
FCC’s pharmacy technician training program provides students with a foundation of pharmacy fundamentals, pharmacy terminology, and real-world, hands-on training, preparing them for an entry-level pharmacy technician career. Some of the topics that the course covers include:
- Pharmaceutical math for preparation of drugs
- Processing and preparing prescriptions
- Performing sterile drug compounding
- Understanding pharmaceutical terminology
- Introduction to the organization of retail pharmacies
- Introduction to the organization of hospital pharmacies
- Externship that provides real-world, hands-on training
- Medical ethics and standards of conduct

About This Program
FCC’s Pharmacy Technician Training Program trains students in classroom and lab settings that are similar to the environments they will work in as pharmacy technicians. This allows students to practice the skills and techniques they’ve learned on equipment they will use in the real world.
Additionally, the program teaches students pharmacy terminology and fundamentals while providing students with hands-on experience across a variety of pharmacy types such as retail, hospital, mail order, and long-term care pharmacies.
In addition to hands-on skills, the Pharmacy Technician Course teaches students about state and federal laws, ethics, and workplace professionalism.
At the end of the program, students are required to complete an externship that provides them with on-the-job training with a local employment partner. This ensures that students complete the program with real-world experience, helping them become successful pharmacy technicians who deliver quality patient care in a pharmacy environment.
